Emu Candy Jars

bird candy jars

I love the bunny jars I made for Easter last year and after Easter I repurposed them into storage jars for my craft room. So when I was thinking of some ideas for candy jars I decided to make some bright tropical jars using plastic Emu's.

Emu candy jars
Tools and Materials
  • Schleich Emu's
  • Recycled glass jar, label removed and cleaned
  • Fast dry enamel spray paint in bright colours
  • Super glue

Emu candy jars, How-to step by step

Emu Toys

Glue emu to lid

Spray paint Emu & lid

Start by carefully gluing the emu to the jar lid and leave to dry. Place lid on a platform you don't need (I used an old glass pot I did not need anymore). Following the instructions on the spray paint, carefully spray the glued emu and lid until you have an even coat of paint and the original colour of both the emu and lid are no longer visible. Leave to dry. Fill with candy.

Patric Johansson

Patric Johansson

Another Saturday, another Swedish based photographer! Patric Johansson

"Since 1997 Patric - the country boy from Gladhammar - has worked with his own business and his second passion. His first passion? His lovely family in Bromma, Stockholm (Camilla, Ella and Gösta).

Patric works for interior companies like Mio Möbler and interior magazines. For other lifestyle magazines and advertising agencies he works with portraits, documentaries and travel stories."

I have chosen my favourite photographs from Patrick that all tend to be very white with pops of colour. I am especially loving the idea of having a colourful chandelier in the kitchen...

A Pretty Garden Lunch by Klastyling

One of my lovely friends on Facebook recently asked if I had seen Klastyling. I had seen the beautiful styling work of Chihiro Kubota but hadn't seen Klastyling which is produced by Chihiro, I popped right over and found this pretty styled garden lunch. I love how the flowers are hung on the back of the chairs, the vases are decorated with burlap and lace and the mix of striped table linen.
Oh! how lovely would it be to sit down and have lunch here with your friends?

Idha Lindhag

Idha Lindhag

Another Saturday, another swedish based photographer! Idha Lindhag is an Interior and Portrait Photographer of Swedish and Italian origin, based in Stockholm.

"Idha's interest in room and space began at an early age, photographing abandoned houses. That together with her fondness for portrait photography became the starting point for her career, after completing studies at Studio Marangoni in Florens, Kulturama in Stockholm and ICP in NYC. Idha likes to treat her images a bit like paintings, well balanced and thought out compositions, finding her inspiration from simple objects in her surroundings, especially from her many travels to Italy."

I love her rustic vintage floral style and her pops of pretty pastels...
